Day 9; Wisques to Avroult

There was no places available to stay in Delettes so we had to book someplace 3.4km away.
Looking back towards Tournehem
Entering another dark forest. Reminds me of where Robin Hood might have intercepted the Sheriff’s wagon and taken all the tax money, it this was England, but it’s France, so probably more like the road Charles Darnay rode back to Paris in Dickens’s A Tale Of Two Cities.
Windmills must have killed all the whales, not a one to be seen anywhere
The blades go whistling around in the strong winds today. They are huge technical marvels.
Dozens of windmills all around us. Clearly France has NOT given up on renewable energy.
A lone tractor out in the field plowing taking no notice of the windmills
A bread vending machine on the side of the road in the village of Avourlt
Ahah! There is an open bar here for a refreshing beverage after the long walk today and the 2 hour wait before we can checkin. Actually we could have checked in earlier if I’d read the instructions from the host, who emailed me the code to the door because they were going to be away until 19:30. But then, I wouldn’t have been able to have my refreshing beverage.
A wonderful little apartment with a kitchen,
although we do t have anything to cook. Sandwiches and olives for supper. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful and we had the best breakfast so far and I promised not to tell booking.com that they made an egg for each of us.
Our breakfast table with my reflected in the mirror on the back wall. And that round white thing on the plate only looks like an egg, If anyone asks.
