Wednesday Sept 25
Lauzerte to Auvillar, 21km
I think I might be a day behind. Or did I missed a day somewhere? 🤔
Anyway… today…after suffering some burst blisters (yuk) and bandaging toes from yesterday’s walk, we decided to cut down the 23km for today and took a bus partway. (The story with the bus is this whole other misadventure).
The section we skipped was mostly flat, on the old cart tracks along the sides of the canal. The section we hiked, after we got off at the bus stop, was over the canal and along the winding roads, and then up another long hill into the town, (why are all the towns at the tops of hills?).

We made it into Auvillar late this afternoon and headed to the “farmacie” for more bandaides, gauze, and antiseptic cream.
After taking off shoes and socks to do the first aid thing, it turns its not as bad as we’d feared and so we plan to hike again tomorrow, not that there’s really any choice because the nearest bus stop is 8km back where we just came from. Well, we could order a taxi, but…

The open courtyard was great when we got there, to be able to hear the church bells, and sit out to look at the night sky, but in the morning it was raining again, argh!
