We managed to catch the local bus again from Ventry this morning and made it back to Dingle, so far so good.
Our host in Ventry last night was shocked that we managed to find a vacancy at her place for the night: “there must have been a cancellation”.
Almost as shocked as I was. I know from looking on Booking.com There was nothing else available.
Back in Dingle…
From what was empty streets and shops 4 days ago to packed sidewalks and traffic congestion…
…and onto the quiet back streets and the churches to escape the crowds.
Although not quite the same as the pilgrimage in Spain, I do miss all the churches, so it was nice to finally see one in Ireland and actually go in one again.
As with the churches in Spain, while not as extravagant, I think of the effort, skills, money…(no power tools) etc. that went into building these and it thoroughly amazes me.
