Arrived at Dublin train station
Made it back to Dublin on a long-weekend-holiday-Monday-packed-train, (actually 2 trains).
We couldn’t reserve seats, (the website was really confusing) but still managed to find a couple of “unreserved” seats for most of the 4 1/2hr ride.
It was so busy when we arrived that we didn’t even dare try to get on the bus to downtown from the station, so we walked.
Walking past the gates of “Fortress Guinness” According to “Top 23 Things To Do In Dublin”, (I don’t know why only 23?) there is supposed to be a self-guided tour of the Guinness facility. This is the gate to the main production facility. The tour was in a completely different part of the city, so no one can steal the secrets of the little ball in the can.

Supper last night at the Church Cafè & Restaurant. Its kind of one of those kinda must-do things when in Dublin I suppose.
A deconsecrated church turned into a pub-restaurant. Kind of cool I guess, but a wee bit over-rated from the hype on TripAdvisor. It’s a lot smaller than the pictures would have you believe, the menu was uninspiring, the “traditional lamb stew” was uninspiring and rather ordinary, and the Apperol Spritz was severely watered down.

We spent a few extra days in Dublin visiting sights: Trinity College, and a few other “must-do” touristy places, like the LIttle Museum o Dublin, and checking out the local neighbourhood pub scene, (there’s vertually a pub on every corner), many with a distinct local clientele, always great fun, especially on a Friday night.
Today we went on a tour of the “Famine Ship”, the Jeanie Johnston. A fascinating story.
